Many years ago, before The Standard and its predecessor were options for members, South Bay United Teachers entered into a relationship with Pacific Educators Inc. to offer coverage. Those policies are still available. The CTA policies offer better coverage and premiums as a rule, but there are a few differences which might make a difference for you, so if you’re in the market for coverage, check them out as well.

Of particular note is that the life insurance policies from Pacific Educators allow coverage for your spouse. And the Fidelity Security policy allows coverage for your spouse without requiring you to apply. Also, the life insurance policies may be kept even if you leave the district. A cancer insurance plan is available as well.
